Artist's Comments
Here's a "little" something I did for a friend. She had recently gave birth and being pregnant myself I'm very emotional so I painted her a little angel. As a reference I've used painting called "Angel of Joy" by Sandra Kuck.
It is not the best or most touching painting in the world but I'm happy with the result as I've put a lot of heart and love in it. It is quite big and took me few days, painted with watercolours on Fredrix Watercolour Canvas (18x24in) and then protected with Golden archival aerosol with a glossy finish. Painting on canvas was fun and pain at the same time. It does not absorb water as watercolour paper would and you can basically wipe everything clean with a cloth and a bit of water. That's why I decided to varnish it as framing would be to costly and heavy. Overall it gave an interesting result, neither watercolour nor oil paining. |
